September 28th – Fall Open House

Wings Seminar at Chesapeake Sport Pilot

Sharpen your skills at a free seminar at Chesapeake Sport Pilot.

Join Chesapeake Sport Pilot as we celebrate the clear skies and cooler temperatures of fall with a full day of great seminars and an airport picnic. CSP’s flight school and maintenance shop will be open for tours and instructors will be on hand to answer questions.

9 am Rusty Pilots – Kathy Harkness, AGI – Sign up here.

This seminar will be just over 3 hours and covers the following areas pertaining to rusty pilots and those unfamiliar with the Baltimore-Washington airspace:

  • Changes in airspace over the years
  • The DC SFRA/FRZ and local Presidential TFRs
  • New weather and briefing tools
  • Changes in technology including ADS-B
  • New medical rules, including light sport and BasicMed
  • Aeromedical factors for older pilots
  • Tools for self-guided continuing education

Advanced Ground Instructor Kathy Harkness was introduced to flying when a friend bought her an introductory flight, which lit a fire in her to further explore aviation. She has gone on to earn a private pilot license, buy a classic 1939 Luscombe, earn an advanced ground instructor certification, and a Light Sport Aircraft Repairman certificate. As an AGI, she loves to light the fire under other prospective pilots.
