- Changes in airspace over the years
- The DC SFRA/FRZ and local Presidential TFRs
- New weather and briefing tools
- Changes in technology including ADS-B
- New medical rules, including light sport and BasicMed
- Aeromedical factors for older pilots
- Tools for self-guided continuing education
Advanced Ground Instructor Kathy Harkness was introduced to flying when a friend bought her an introductory flight, which lit a fire in her to further explore aviation. She has gone on to earn a private pilot license, buy a classic 1939 Luscombe, earn an advanced ground instructor certification, and a Light Sport Aircraft Repairman certificate. As an AGI, she loves to light the fire under other prospective pilots.
