Free Flights for Kids: Experience the Excitement of Aviation
Chesapeake Sport Pilot is excited to announce that our volunteer pilots will once again be offering free introductory flights for kids ages 8–17 on September 19th, from 9am-12pm!
These short flights are generously donated by pilots who are part of the Chesapeake Sport Pilot flying community. Kids will take to the skies for an exciting local flight around Kent Island, giving them a chance to see their community from a whole new perspective—and experience what it's like to fly in a real airplane.
For kids who already dream about aviation, this can be an incredible opportunity to inspire their interest in flying. And for those who have never considered becoming a pilot, it just might be the experience that gets them hooked!
There is no cost to participate. These flights are made possible entirely through the generosity of our volunteer pilots who believe in sharing their love of aviation with the next generation.

FREE Seminars for Pilots

Rusty Pilot Refresher
This seminar will be just over 3 hours and covers the following areas pertaining to rusty pilots and those unfamiliar with the Baltimore-Washington airspace:
Medical rules and considerations, including light sport and BasicMed Aeromedical factors for older pilots and/or non-current pilots Changes in airspace over the years The DC SFRA Weather and briefing tools Changes in cockpit technology including ADS-B Tools for self-guided continuing education
Advanced Ground Instructor Kathy Harkness was introduced to flying when a friend bought her an introductory flight, which lit a fire in her to further explore aviation. After flying as a sport pilot for eight years she went on to buy a classic 1939 Luscombe and earn a private pilot license and both Advanced Ground Instructor and Light Sport Aircraft Repairman certificates. As an AGI, she loves to light the fire under other prospective pilots.
