At Chesapeake Sport Pilot, learning to fly is only the beginning. Whether you're taking your first Discovery Flight, earning your Sport Pilot or Private Pilot Certificate, or have been flying for decades, you'll find a group of people who are eager to share their knowledge, encouragement, and love of flying.
Giving back is an important part of who we are. Chesapeake Sport Pilot proudly supports Scouting programs, introduces local youth to aviation through educational flights and airport events, and participates in community outreach that inspires the next generation of pilots. One of our favorite traditions is flying Santa Claus to Tangier Island each Christmas—a memorable event that brings smiles to children and adults alike while showcasing the joy and generosity of the aviation community.
Our members also enjoy attending aviation events throughout the Mid-Atlantic, including regional fly-ins, pancake breakfasts, airport open houses, and aviation gatherings. These trips provide opportunities to sharpen flying skills, explore new destinations around the Chesapeake Bay, and build lasting friendships with fellow aviators.
